Big Trouble In Little China and Fright Night Film Fest

"All I know is, this Lo Pan character comes out of thin air in the middle of a goddamn alley while his buddies are flying around on wires cutting everybody to shreds, and he just stands there waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him with light coming out of his mouth!"

How can a young man not fall in Love with a movie like this!

This will be offered up for the first time at Fright Night Film Fest this very weekend!

Psycho Street: Hammer Horror Style Movie Poster

Ages ago, in time long past, in the mists of legendary, at my first convention, I met Marv Blauvelt. At the time it was both of our first conventions (a Fangoria in Chicago I believe), and neither of us knew what we where doing there or how we where supposed to do it, but we new one thing for sure, and that was we sure liked horror cons!

Over time we both kept in touch and kept going to these until one day I got a call from him wanting to do a one sheet movie poster for his upcoming movie Psycho Street. Now Marv and I LOVE movie posters especially the older ones and Marv, being the guy that he is, wanted to do this one in the classic Hammer Horror style from the 1960s. This film is an anthology, and that style goes extremely well as a classic movie poster so needless to say I jumped at this project and felt that doing this was like coming full circle back to my roots.

Well in any case here it is! For a more in depth interview and a trailer for Lewis (one of the stories in Psycho Street) you can check out these links and or follow Muscle-Wolf Productions on Facebook:

Funhouse: Tobe Hooper, 1981

Some movies are a marvel in simplicity. Great for the sheer reason that they work on a primal level. Tobe Hooper's 1981 classic Funhouse is just such a movie. It just works and the creature is great. Some poor elephant man gone wrong. Being brought up by carneys will do that to you every time. Their carneyness will pollute you and turn you into a bloodthirsty, horny monster.

"What's in the basket...?"

Man, parasitic twins are the best. Who wouldn't want one of these. Your very own Belial to carry around, watch movies with, and rip people who generally annoy you into spaghetti! Well, although I unfortunately can't provide you with your own psychopathic mutant in a basket I can and will provide you with one of these sexy prints!

This little interaction is classic:

Casey: [In the Bar] There's something I've been dying to ask you. What's in the basket?

Duane Bradley: My Brother.

Casey: Ya Brother!

Casey: [Duane and Casey both laugh] What is he, a midget?

Duane Bradley: No, we're twins. Siamese twins.

Casey: That's funny, you don't look...

Duane Bradley, Casey: ORIENTAL!

Casey: [Duane and Casey both laugh] So what happened? Somebody shrink him?

Duane Bradley: No, he's deformed. A freak, he's like a squashed octopus.

Duane Bradley: Our mother died giving birth to us. He was attached to my right side. They wouldn't let us go to school or anything. They kept us hidden. We were the 'big family secret'. Everybody hated us, except our Aunt. See, he likes the dark. He doesn't like to be seen, not even by me sometimes. And you know what else?

Duane Bradley: [Casey shakes her head] He talks to me. [Points to his head] Up here. Without words. I just hear him whispering in my brain. Sometimes he talks for hours and wouldn't shut up. I used to be able to talk to him like that, but that was when we were still connected. Our Aunt said it was our special gift. But since we've been separated, I can't do it anymore, but he can still do it to me. In fact, he's even better at it and he always knows what I'm thinking.

Casey: Duane, you're giving me the creeps.

Duane Bradley: They didn't want him to live. But he fooled them, he just got stronger. If you only knew what it was like. Duane and I kept hidden from everyone. We're both so messed up. I don't know which one of us is worse.

And now for some trailer!

Gotta Give Some Vincent Price Love!

Here is another one for you guys. Love the movie and the atmosphere in this one. Hope you all enjoy it too.

Prospero: But Satan rules the universe! I made a pact with him!

Man in red: He does not rule alone... and your pact with him will not save you.

Prospero: There is no other God! Satan killed him!

Man in red: Each man creates his own God for himself, his own Heaven, his own Hell.

Prospero: Let me see your face!

[He unmasks the Man in Red to reveal his own bloodstained face]

Man in red: Your Hell, Prince Prospero... and the moment of your death.

"You're a fool, Ed Harley... " And the painting of Pumpkinhead

It's been forever since my last post but Ive been painting like a damned fool and here is the first of my new paintings all ready for ya!

Ah, the Pumpkinhead. Brings back so many fond nightmares. Love the witch in that one, all wrinkled with willowy limbs and wrinkle skin. And one of the coolest movie rhymes ever!

“Keep away from Pumpkinhead,
unless you are tired of living,
his enemies are mostly dead,
He’s mean and unforgiving,
Laugh at him and you’re undone,
But in some dreadful fashion,
Vengeance, he considers fun,
And plans it with a passion,
Time will not erase or blot,
A plot that he has brewing,
It’s when you think he’s forgot,
He’ll conjure your undoing,
bolted doors and windows barred,
Guard dogs prowling in the yard,
Won’t protect you in your bed,
Nothing will, from Pumpkinhead.”

How bout that for some chilling shit! Anyway watch the store on this one cause it'll soon see T-Shirt status.

See you soon!

Shock Waves "The Deep End of Horror" and the deep end to my obsession for making a painting!

Alright. I'll admit it. I'm totally obsessed with this film. I always have been. When I was a kid I would watch this bad boy with my Grandfather and Grandmother on channel 66 late on a Saturday night and something about it always stuck with me. Even now after 20 years since I first watched this film I still love it. And after saying it I'm still obsessed. I'll probably revisit this again in paint someday. But not too soon.
